I managed to install the app and have the API Key work eventually, I found following issues though:
1) it seems max. 100 records can show on the map at once 2) Both Date of last visit and Event Name fields won't automatically update, so pointers are all orange (i.e. color won't change depending on the number of days passed after last meeting related to the account as expected) 3) Latitude and Longitude coordinates are not always correct, so the record shows on the wrong location
It would be great if those issues can be solved so the app can work properly. Thanks.
Did you end up with any issues with the extension when you tried plotting more than 100 records? If so could you elaborate on it?
When you locate a record using this extension, the color of the plotted pin on the map will appear appropriately according to the value in the “Date of last visit” field without a flaw. If a record is plotted on the map with an orange pin, it means, that particular record doesn’t have any value in the “Date of last visit” field. Kindly make sure the date is filled in and try plotting a record that should show up duly on the map.
This extension uses the billing address of the records for the Accounts module to get plotted in the map and doesn’t use Latitude and Longitude coordinates.

At first I had problems. I contacted Zoho extension support. They were great. They got everything working. Later I had an issue with # in some addresses causing a problem and they resolved that. (Actually showed me I needed to replace the # with Suite or something). Free extension with a lot of power. MORE DETAIL: I have full admin privileges and I am the administrator for my company's google account, BUT, Google has so many features disabled for security. It took google support 90 minutes over two calls to discover that [] Allow users to create projects was not enabled. Other project related features needed access. It would benefit Map Plotter to detail required settings in Google Admin.

Thanks for the awesome review! We are glad to have helped you resolve the issue with the extension, and it's very nice of you to come and acknowledge here.
The Map Plotter extension will be able to map multiple records (more than five) simultaneously. Could you please elaborate on your concern with the extension so that we can have this sorted accordingly? You can also drop a line at support@zohoextensions.com to have this rectified immediately. We'd be glad to help you.
One star for now. perhaps that can change. I installed this extension following all direction. Installed the API. The installation was a success. Everything shows as complete and active. There is only one problem. Where is the button? I can find no button on individual contact records. No button on the contact list when I select one or multiple contacts. Where is the button?
The button to plot can be found at the top of the list view page after selecting the records that need to be marked on the map.
To locate a record, go to the respective module and select the record you want to plot in the map, then click on the "Map Plotter" button from the drop-down at the top.
We have also encompassed the same steps in the help document, which can be referred to at the link below
This extension does not work. I spent 2 hours on the phone with your support team and your own developers did not know how to fix it. Zoho is the worst CRM tool that I have used, unfortunately our company cannot afford to use something else or we would.
It is sad to know that you feel this way about our product. Nevertheless, we were unable to locate any support ticket requests for your account on our platform. We would be happy to conduct a brief remote session to set this extension up from the get-go. Please drop us a line at support@zohoextensions.com with the details and we will get in touch with you.
Really? I am not surprised you were unable to locate the ticket number because no one at your company knows what is going on. Here is the ticket number: 94275822. What is the next excuse?
the API crashed when attempting to plot more than 2 account locations. I would love to have a map of all account locations where i could see the locations on the map and customize what data from the account i wanted to see if i hover over a location. for example if i want to send a sales guy on a specific route to hit all the accounts in an area i would like the create that route based on customizable data. Also allows the sales guy to understand who and where he/she is driving to.
Could you please explicate the difficulty you had while plotting accounts so we can drill deep and ascertain the cause? You can drop a line at support@zohoextensions.com with requisite details for further scrutiny.
Also we will explore the possibilities of showing customized data in a card for the records which are plotted on the map while hovering over or clicking on them and have it encompassed in the future updates.
This is the same issue that happened to me. It would not plot certain accounts in various states, and no more than 7 accounts. I spent 2 hours on the phone with support and their own devs did not know how to solve it and told me "just use it for 7 accounts at a time". Zoho is a complete joke.
I get: Invalid request. Missing the 'address', 'components', 'latlng' or 'place_id' parameter. On some record and it does not work. While this same record when click by itself in CRM it show in google map. So if I search a bunch of record most of the time it does not work.
Given the nature of this request, we would have to scrutinize this over a screen-sharing session to straighten it out. Drop us a line at support@zohoextensions.com with the screenshots so we can take care of this for you.
Maybe I don't understand how to use this, but so far it seems like a useless app. all it says is Address or Last Visit field is empty., why do I have to have a last visit when I have not done one yet. and both of my addresses, billing and shipping are filled., plus I have to do a google map integration that I have to pay for now. How do I remove this app? What I am trying to do is pick a spot, and pick a few miles around it, and I want zoho to tell me my accounts around that areas, or a pre selected. This must have been designed for another task, that I don't understand.
Currently, only the records with the "Last visit date" field updated will be plotted on the map. However, we are looking into the nitty-gritty details of making that field not mandated to plot a record which we will keep you apprised of if and when there is a change.
If you require further assistance please drop us a line at support@zohoextensions.com. We'd be glad to help you.
We have revamped the Map Plotter extension by making the “Last Visit Date” field not mandatory to plot the records on the map. From now on, records without the “Last Visit Date” can also be plotted on the map using this extension. Please install or upgrade the extension to the latest version to try out the feature and for any feedback, hit us up at support@zohoextensions.com.

I haven't gotten it to work yet because it seems to require a last visited date to be associated with the account. The instructions and help documentation was straightforward, and I expect if/when I decide to add a last visited date for every account it will work with the Google Maps integration.
Suggestions: * Remove requirement for last visited * Allow selection of whether you want to use the billing or shipping address rather than forcing it depending on the module you are using.

Using Google direct API is a good move in terms of data control but as reported by other we need a clear list on what google API package must be enabled. The app itself should: - enable to specify manually streets, code and countries for accounts. Billing data for an account isn't relevant when the account is a prospects accounts and hasn't been billed yet. - the map should generate itself even if there is no data in the last visit fields. Conclusion: an app that isn't reaching the level of Minimum Viable Requirements. Thoughts for others: exploring the usage of Zoho Analytics with Geo data visualization might be a solution -untested so far
We will encompass on our help documentation the list of the API that needs to be enabled while generating the key on Google. Also with regard to your requirement of mapping the accounts with manual addresses and plotting the records with no data in the last visit fields, we shall analyze the scalability of having it incorporated down the lane.

Did not work. Kept getting error message that the project is not authorised to use the API. I checked with Zoho and they said it wasn't a problem on their end with no further help / suggestion on how to resolve the issue.
We couldn't find any support requests for your account in our portal. We would like to check this case over a remote session as it isn't the intended behavior. Drop us a line at support@zohoextensions.com with the requisite details.
This plugin is terrible. No explanation on exactly which APIs to enable, no explanation that Last Visit dates and all address information must be correctly set, and no explanation that it geocodes all the points on the fly everytime so you have to sit and wait for all the geocoding to finish. and then, there are no labels on the maps with the contact/business names.
There are two APIs that can be configured for the Map Plotter extension, Google and Bing API which is mentioned in the help documentation. Also, in the same help documentation, it is mentioned that "Records with Address and Last visit date only will be pinned in the reports".
Please refer to the below link for the help documentation
We will look into the possibility of incorporating the feature of labeling a contact record while pinpointing after analyzing its feasibility and will keep you posted.
Sathiya, this app is great but look and the ratings. You have 2 stars average basically because the documentation fails to explain details about the behavior of the app and better step by step to get it working. I, as many here, had to spend a lot of time figuring out how to make it work.
Another issue in the app is plotting the Deals based on their Account's address. It makes no sense. If you use the Account address, well, go plot the Accounts. It's useless this way. What can we do when each Deal has a different address? Can you enable an option to plot Deals based on their addresses creating custom fields for it?
Or at least use the address from a Contact tied somehow to the Deal? Maybe add a lookup field to Contacts 'Contact to Plot' and setup to use it's address if not empty or the Account if empty? Or maybe an option in the App settings to pick if the Deal use the Contact or Account address?
Gray screen here too, but it was because no record trying to plot had 'Date of last visit' fille out. For starters, you need to put a date in the 'Date of last visit' date field in order for the map to show its terrain. Another missing piece of info is that you have to login into the google API link they mention and go to credentials on the left.

Same as others - error screen that says This page didn't load Google Maps correctly. See the JavaScript console for technical details. Other reviews and help topics are of no help to resolve.

My experience is the same as described in the other reviews. I was able to get it working but its functionality is so limited and restricted I need to figure out if it provides any true business value.
Could you let me know what specific features you were looking for in the extension so that I can try to shed a bit more light on its expected functionality?
